Very fun
Very fun, good variety of mobs and loot, and quite challenging.
MythForce is a first‑person roguelite developed by Beamdog and published by Aspyr. The game is inspired by Saturday‑morning cartoons from the ’80s, blending cel‑shaded visuals with roguelike progression.

Beamdog brought in Pingle to make sure MythForce’s cartoon look and fast co-op combat could run smoothly on Switch. Our tech team reworked assets, animations, and performance for handheld play, working closely with Beamdog to preserve the game’s charm and co-op feel.
MythForce’s cel-shaded Saturday-morning-cartoon style relied on Unreal Engine 5’s dynamic lighting, shadows, and high-detail assets. On PC, they gave the game its nostalgic look. But on Switch’s limited GPU and memory? Stutters and unstable frame rates.
Co-op made things tougher. The game shines in multiplayer, but online play put more strain on an already stretched system. We had to optimize the game’s assets, animations, and rendering without losing the cartoon look, co-op stability, or fluid combat.

We can help!
The biggest win of this project came from redesigning the LOD system for Switch. That allowed cel-shaded characters and bright environments to stay crisp, while maintaining steady frame rates. For this, we:
Built a custom content optimization pipeline
Reworked LOD rules to balance fidelity and performance
Tuned animations to reduce CPU overhead
We set up a joint workflow with Beamdog where each update was guided by data. Our QA team used profiling and Unreal’s memreport to show exactly which assets or systems strained the hardware. This kept both of our teams focused on the biggest wins, helping us avoid wasted effort.
From technically demanding titles to stylistically unique games, we've helped dozens of developers scale their games’ success on new platforms. In record times.
We‘ll gladly discuss your brand, business goals, and tasks. After submitting the form, we will contact you within 24 hours.
