A team of talented UE programmers and UI/UX designers put a lot of effort into THE FINALS to see the light. Here are some challenges they faced:
Bring THE FINALS to the PS Store and Microsoft Store
– develop and implement the PS5 activity system and PS5 achievements system
– implement the client-side architecture and develop part of the backend functionality
– migrate the existing widgets to MVVM architecture
– improve the Xbox build to meet the Microsoft Store requirements
Adapt UI for smooth performance and gameplay on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
– rewrite the in-engine UI system for a smooth transition to the new interface architecture
– recreate some of the UI functionality for better performance to solve some UI-related bugs
– improve the applied multiplayer features, including localization tools and VOIP
Setup the optimal sound system for the required consoles
– Optimize the sound content in the in-game arena
– Set up the console-specific hardware accelerator for the correct work of sound on each console to decrease the CPU load;
